Gilbert Family Seeks Justice in Unsolved Murder of Rachel Hansen

GILBERT, Arizona – In a tragic incident that shook the community, 19-year-old Rachel Hansen was fatally shot by an intruder in her apartment during the early hours of June 4, 2022. Almost two years have passed since the heartbreaking incident, and Rachel’s family continues to seek answers and justice for their loss.

Rachel’s mother, Kim Hansen, is reaching out to the public, urging anyone with information about her daughter’s murder to come forward. The lack of closure has compelled Kim to turn to social media, where she shared Rachel’s story and appealed for cooperation in solving the case.

Described as ambitious and determined, Rachel had recently moved into her apartment near San Tan Village Parkway and Ray Road. On the night of her tragic death, Rachel made a harrowing call to 911, reporting that she had been shot by an unknown assailant. Since then, Kim and her family have been grappling with the anguish of not knowing who was responsible for taking Rachel’s life.

Despite ongoing efforts by the Gilbert police to investigate the case, Kim was informed in February that the investigation was handed over to Silent Witness as authorities had reached an impasse. A reward of up to $7,000 is being offered for any information that could lead to a breakthrough in the case.

Individuals who wish to provide tips or information can reach out to Silent Witness at 480-Witness. Calls to the program are answered 24/7 by live personnel, and all tips are treated with anonymity. Additionally, tips that result in an arrest or indictment may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

As the search for answers continues, Kim Hansen remains steadfast in her quest for justice, hoping that the community will come together to support her family and honor Rachel’s memory. The case serves as a stark reminder of the impact of senseless violence and the importance of seeking closure for loved ones left behind.
