Hammer-Wielding Thug Jake Coop Jailed for Violent Attack

Leamington, England – A violent hammer attack carried out by a baby-faced thug has led to a five-year custodial sentence for 19-year-old Jake Coop. Coop, along with a 16-year-old accomplice, orchestrated the attack in which the victim was struck on the head with a hammer. The duo had reportedly planned to stab the victim, as revealed in a video of their conversation posted online.

The incident unfolded on September 16, when the victim and his friends encountered Coop and the 16-year-old on Tapping Way. During the confrontation, Coop used a hammer to assault the victim, while his accomplice brandished a large Rambo knife and chased one of the victim’s friends. The attackers fled the scene on push bikes after members of the public intervened.

Following the brutal assault, the victim collapsed and began to experience seizures in Coton End. Fortunately, a CT scan revealed no serious brain damage. The victim’s friends promptly called an ambulance, leading to his hospitalization and subsequent placement into an induced coma.

Law enforcement authorities apprehended the 16-year-old suspect at his residence in the early hours of the next morning. Coop, on the other hand, turned himself in at the Leamington Police Station later that day. Both individuals were charged for their roles in the violent attack.

At the ensuing court proceedings at Warwick Crown Court, Coop pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon, resulting in his imprisonment for five years. The 16-year-old, from Rugby, received a four-year custodial sentence after admitting to possession of a bladed article. Both were found guilty of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

Detective Constable Mark Lowndes from Warwickshire Police CID denounced the attack, emphasizing the potential life-threatening nature of such violent incidents. He underscored the seriousness with which law enforcement approaches investigations of weapon-related crimes, stressing the need for thorough examination and prosecution in such cases.
