THANE, India – An argument over a dog bite escalated dramatically when the animal’s owner attacked his neighbor with a cricket bat, causing severe injuries. Police in the city of Thane stated that the incident occurred after a 45-year-old man was bitten by his neighbor’s dog on March 14.
According to local authorities, the man approached his neighbor in Balkum Pada to discuss the dog’s aggressive behavior and request that it be restrained. The conversation, however, took a violent turn when the dog’s owner, infuriated by the complaint, allegedly picked up a cricket bat and assaulted the victim.
The injured man required hospitalization for the serious injuries he sustained during the attack. Subsequently, he provided a statement to the police, which led to the filing of an FIR against the dog’s owner. The FIR was registered under section 118(1) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous means) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, indicating the serious nature of the charges.
