King Misuzulu Kazwelithin Condemns Violent Attack at Zulu Nation Anniversary Event

Ulundi, South Africa – His Majesty King Misuzulu Kazwelithin of the Zulu Nation has strongly condemned the recent violent attack that took place during the 110th Anniversary of King Dinuzulu ka Cetshwayo. The incident occurred at the KwaCeza sports field in the Zululand District Municipality, where a mob in traditional attire caused chaos, injuring multiple individuals, including children and women.

Provincial Government spokesperson Bongi Gwala reported that a total of sixteen people sustained injuries during the attack. Eleven of them were treated at KwaCeza Hospital and subsequently discharged. However, a 37-year-old woman suffered severe beatings and head injuries, requiring specialized care at Ngwelezane Hospital. Five others received treatment at Dumbe Hospital, with additional individuals seeking medical attention at Itshelejuba Hospital.

King Kazwelithini, alongside Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube and President Cyril Ramaphosa, united in denouncing the violence that transpired. Premier Dube-Ncube emphasized the nation’s stance against political intolerance and violence, labeling the attack as abhorrent and barbaric. She urged law enforcement to swiftly apprehend those responsible, highlighting the detrimental impact of such actions on the country’s hard-earned constitutional democracy.
