Road Rage Rampage: Woman Receives Suspended Sentence for Violent Attack in Front of Child

Leominster, England — A 35-year-old woman has received an 18-month suspended sentence after engaging in a violent road rage encounter that left another driver and a passenger injured. The incident occurred on August 6, 2024, in the Leominster area and has raised concerns about aggressive driving behaviors.

Kimberley Rattray, a resident of Almley, Hereford, was found guilty of several charges, including assault causing actual bodily harm and driving without due care. During the altercation, Rattray overtook another vehicle on the B4361 near Bargates in a dangerous manner, subsequently cutting in front and braking suddenly. Following this startling maneuver, she exited her car and physically assaulted the other driver, yanking her hair in an attempt to drag her from the vehicle while forcefully slamming the car door against her. The attack unfolded in full view of the victim’s young child, compounding the distressing nature of the situation.

A passenger of the assaulted driver intervened and suffered injuries as well, illustrating the chaotic and violent nature of the incident. After the court’s ruling on Thursday, concerns were voiced by law enforcement officials regarding such behavior on the roads. PC Kieran Duggin from West Mercia Police described the attack as “unprovoked” and branded it entirely unjustifiable. He emphasized that such acts of aggression are utterly unacceptable.

In addition to her suspended jail term, Rattray was ordered to pay £400 in compensation to her victims, as well as legal costs amounting to £330 and a £40 victim surcharge. The court also imposed four penalty points on her driving license and issued restraining orders to prevent her from contacting the victims.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers associated with aggressive driving and the impact it can have on innocent individuals. Authorities continue to stress the importance of maintaining road safety and civility to ensure the well-being of all drivers and their families.
