Vape Shop Robbery Suspect Shot in Leg by Fort Worth PD Officer

FORT WORTH, Texas – A 37-year-old man was wounded in the leg by a Fort Worth police officer early Sunday morning after allegedly fleeing from the scene of a robbery at a local vape shop. The incident began around 4 a.m. when police responded to a report of a robbery at the vape shop located in the 6400 block of McCart Avenue.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the suspect was reported to be wearing a face mask and armed with a crowbar. Within minutes of the initial call, officers arrived at the scene and spotted the suspect, who then attempted to escape by running through a nearby open field behind the shopping center. The officers eventually located the suspect hiding in a backyard in the 3200 block of Fargo Court.

As the police attempted to confront the suspect, an officer discharged their firearm, injuring the suspect in the leg. No further details regarding the events leading up to the shooting have been released by the authorities. The suspect, who remains unnamed, was taken to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. There were no other reported injuries.

Following the incident, the officer involved has been placed on leave as part of standard procedure.
