Abbott’s re-election ensures the migrant resettlement scheme will go on. Texas and Arizona governors have sent buses filled with thousands of migrants from the border to a sanctuary city. Recent bus passengers have been predominantly Venezuelans trying to get out of their country. Abbott has dispatched busloads to New York, Chicago, and the Washington, DC area (including Kamal Harris’s home).
On Monday, nine buses full of migrants came to New York City and the area around it. This is the most migrants that have come in one day since southern states started sending them there.
It seems as if Republican governors are competing to bring migrants from the US border by bus to New York, Washington, DC, Chicago, and now, Martha’s Vineyard. Perhaps we will see a boatload to the famous Statue of Liberty.
On Monday, the Pentagon denied a request from Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser to activate the National Guard to assist thousands of migrants arriving in the nation’s capital.
